MIDI turns 30: a revolutionary open music standard lives on | The Verge
The list of digital technologies that have remained in use for a decade or more is a short one. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface), the universal standard for communication between electronic instruments — which debuted at NAMM in 1983 — has gone unchanged for 30 years. Introduced to the public the same year Microsoft releasedWindows 1.0, MIDI belongs to a Paleolithic era of computer interface design. Nevertheless, it’s still used in every major recording studio, by almost every electronic musician working today, and aspects of its design have directly influenced the evolution of several musical genres.

Great electronic music person to follow/listen to. Smooth and subtle soundscapes and some glorious melodies abound.
Hi there, long time no see. I’ll have to stop being so lazy with this tumblr thingy, it’s been too long since my last post… Anyhow, today I wanted to let you guys know that I’ve put together a tune with a vocalist, MS44, and it’s now available for free download via her soundcloud as well as mine! It’s called Massive Delusion, have a listen :)
I’ll start posting more often here on tumblr from here on out, let’s say it’s my delayed new years resolution :D
